A note from Mrs. Solomon
Please be patient with our after school dismissal. Please be using the correct pick-up locations and be sure to be watching your children around the moving vehicles. We will soon be adding a crossing guard after school to help continue to monitor the safety of our students and community members.
Today you should have recieved and email from the district in regards to volunteers in buildings. I will be working with staff and the PTO to inform our community of the volunteer opportunities at Wild Rose and will send more detailed information next week.

Wild Rose “Be Strong” Color Fun Run
On Monday, October 18th, all Wild Rose Elementary students will participate in the annual Fitness Fundraiser. This year, they will participate in the Wild Rose “Be Strong” Color Fun Run during their regularly scheduled PE times. This exciting event incorporates physical fitness and art along with a literacy component which will utilize the book, Be Strong, by Pat Zietlow MIller. In the book, Taniesha is discouraged that she is not strong enough to climb the rock wall at school. She learns that being strong has many meanings, and that people are strongest when they work together and trust others.
Each student will receive a t-shirt in their class color to wear for the event. Students will have the opportunity to move around a “track” by running, jumping, skipping -- any movement they like, as long as they keep moving!
Once the movement challenge is completed they will be creating a school wide art project bringing all of their class colors together. The completed canvas will be hung in the school as a reminder of what we can achieve when we are strong together.
We request parents and students alike to support this fundraiser by asking family, friends and the community to sponsor their student’s goal to “Be Strong.” If our Wild Rose community can help us meet our goal of $15,000, we will provide an all-school reward (TBD). Achieving these fundraising goals allows the PTO to provide resources that enhance every student’s learning environment at Wild Rose. Not only does this fundraiser give students an opportunity to raise money for the school without asking them to go out and sell products, but it also encourages students to move and create together.
This school year has had its own unique challenges and this is a great reminder that we can “Be Strong” and face any challenges if we work together!
Please keep your eye on backpack mail next week. . . a detailed instruction packet will be sent home next week with additional fundraising and event details.
Sincerely,
The Wild Rose Elementary PTO Executive Board
