Updated Senior Class Timeline
United We Learn Competition
For the second year, MCPS is sponsoring the systemwide student contest, United We Learn: All Means All. Students are being asked to use visual art and the written word to celebrate diversity while exploring the matter of equity for all. The contest challenges students to think critically about what equity means and how attitudes, traditions, systemic practices and/or legal matters impede or support the concept that “All Means All.” The contest is open to students from all grade levels. Submissions will be judged by level (elementary, middle and high) and by medium. Entries must be created by groups of two students or more. More details are available on the contest website. The contest will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 16.
PTSA Book Sale
IT’S BOOK SALE TIME! WOOHOO! Your Blake PTSA relies on fundraisers like its annual Book Sale to support the amazing programs that enrich our entire community. And the Book Sale needs YOU to make it the incredible success it can be this year. The Book Sale is held in a store in the Cloverly Shopping Center, 15521 New Hampshire Avenue.
So, how can you help? Look around you as you read this update: see any books you want to donate? Great! We’ll take them. Do you or your student (especially your student who needs SSL hours?) have a few hours this month to spare to help sort books or staff the book store? Fantastic! Join the party!
Donate your books and volunteer to sort books from Sat., Feb. 3 to Fri. Feb. 9. The Book Sale will be open daily from Sat., Feb. 10 through Sun., Feb. 25. Hours vary, check the schedule online.
