Sprague School
Magic in the Air
The annual Halloween parade and parties at Sprague are an absolute blast! Watch the live version of the parade on our YouTube Channel. It's a magical spectacle where students of all ages come dressed up as their favorite characters and personalities. From the dazzling array of Barbie dolls strutting their glamour to the enchanting wizards and witches inspired by Harry Potter, the school transforms into a wonderland of imagination. It's a day where we celebrate creativity, diversity, and, most importantly, having a ton of spooky fun together!
Please consider donating your unopened candy to Sprague. The school is donating the bags to a homeless shelter.

Plastic Free Lunch Day
Sprague is excited to announce its participation in National Plastic-Free Lunch Day, a nationwide initiative to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainability. On Wednesday, Nov. 8, we encourage our school community to unite and positively impact the environment. National Plastic-Free Lunch Day, which falls on that day, offers a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn about the importance of reducing plastic waste and to engage in eco-friendly practices.
Here's how you can get involved:
- Pack a Plastic-Free Lunch: Encourage your child to bring a lunch to school entirely free of single-use plastics. Use reusable containers, water bottles, and utensils.
- Choose Sustainable Snacks: Opt for snacks that come in paper or cardboard packaging rather than plastic. Fresh fruits and vegetables are excellent choices.
- Say No to Plastic Straws: If your child enjoys beverages with a straw, please provide them with a reusable or biodegradable straw.
- Educate and Share: Talk to your child about the importance of reducing plastic waste and the environmental consequences of plastic pollution. Encourage them to share what they've learned with their friends and classmates.
Together, we can make a difference and show our children that they have the power to protect the planet.

Power of Belonging
Join SACEE and Parent Ed virtually on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 7:00 p.m. to discuss how to create an environment where everyone can thrive and every student feels a sense of belonging.
This critical conversation will explore why a student’s sense of belonging is so important to their overall success and well-being and the role parents can play in supporting this most basic need. Our speaker Sabrina Rahman has helped the nation's top companies and government institutions build healthy, high performing organizational cultures.
After the presentation, Sabrina will be joined by Katie Reynolds, assistant superintendent and Kendra Perri, interim principal of Daniel Wright Junior High School, to field your questions about fostering belonging in our schools.
