What's Cooking?

On Monday, October 31st, all school lunches will include a scarecrow cookie as an extra treat. These cookies will be available as an a la carte item for $0.80 for those students that do not order a school lunch.

For complete breakfast and lunch menus, please click here.

When packing your child's lunch, please remember to avoid packing candy, soda, and glass containers. We also ask that students not bring fast food in the cafeteria.

If you would like to monitor what your child is buying you CAN put restrictions on their account. Please call or email with those requests to stempleton@hse.k12.in.us.

Winter Assistance

It is hard to believe that the winter months are quickly approaching. Every year Hoosier Road offers support to students and their families to help make these next few months a little warmer and their winter break more joyful. This year, in an effort to ensure that we are supporting all of our students through the winter months, we are reaching out to all of our Hoosier Road families to help us in this effort. If you are in need of support this season or if you are interested in supporting a family this year, please click the below link and answer the questions accordingly. Please be sure to complete this form by Friday, November 4th.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and their families. Our HRE family is truly the best.

This Month's Read-a-loud

Our school-wide read aloud for October is Mary Wears What She Wants. All of our teachers will be reading this book with their class, but we encourage you to read it as a family as well. There is also a link below to a read-a-loud version of the book.

Hoosier Woods Little Free Library

Hoosier Road Girl Scout Troop 1484 invites you to visit the newly installed Little Free Library at the south trailhead of Hoosier Woods. This Little Free Library is the 8th one in the Fishers Park system and will be cared for by the troop through the Fishers Parks Steward program. The girls invite all families to visit the library and grab a book or leave a book. They are working to organize a book drive to support filling the library. Details on how to donate books will be available at a later date. Happy reading!

Veterans Day Program

Hoosier Road's much anticipated annual Veterans Day Program will be held in the gym on Thursday, November 10th at 9:00AM. Doors will open at 8:45 AM for the performance . Please enter through Door 10 (near the gym). Our first through fourth graders will all be performing. Due to space limitations, we are asking that only one parent per participating student attend; sorry, no siblings. However, if you would like to bring a veteran or someone currently serving in our armed forces as a special guest, they are welcome and encouraged to attend.

To speed up the entrance process and help with seating, there will be two lines located at the gym door (exit 10) -- one for parents with veterans and one for parents only. This is considered a public event so no background checks will be required.

Our first through fourth graders are very excited to celebrate Veterans Day through singing, reading and honoring those who have served our country so that we may enjoy all of our freedoms.
