The Aviator Compass
Empowering teachers to grow EVERY child every day.
December - 2016
Introduction
Our district vision statement challenges us to "respect, value, inspire, and empower EVERY child to reach their full potential in an ever-changing world". To help build on our collective capabilities to bring that vision to fruition, our district curriculum and instruction team seeks to provide our teachers with information that expands our teaching practices around our district priorities.

Literacy Edge
This year Literacy Council is being facilitated in collaboration with the Ohio Writing Project. Last month, we introduced I see...I think… I wonder... to you as a strategy to help effectively integrate writing into content areas and use writing to determine student levels of content mastery. This month we bring you the One Word Notecard which can be used to allow students to focus their thinking and practice the skills of explaining and supporting what they think.
