Long Elementary School

A Note From Dr. Phillips

I hope everyone had a relaxing Thanksgiving Break. The Phillips Family was hit by the flu, so there was a lot of TV watching and naps!

I am looking forward to seeing all of the Long Leaders tomorrow! Please remember to dress for the weather and please label coats with names.

PTO Updates

Direct Donation Drive

We are still running our direct donation drive, and need your help. Our goal is $10,000 and this directly affects our ability to pay for our book of the month club as well as provide for the design lab. A gift of just $23.55 per student would get us to our goal of $10,000 in our direct donation drive.

Thank you so much for all who have supported and will support our various events, and dine out nights...every dollar makes a difference!

Please consider a gift today!

PS Lets not sell over priced nuts and wrapping paper ever again!

Adopt-A-Family

This sign-up is for the Long Elementary 2022 Adopt-A-Family. This year we are asking for gift cards to give our families a holiday meal, a family experience together, and gifts for all family members. With these cards they can shop for that perfect gift for each other and also enjoy some fun family time over break. Please have gift cards turned in to school no later than Dec. 1st. We are so appreciative of the generosity of the Long family.

Nominate a Special Lindbergh Teacher for #TeacherProud Tuesday

Calling all students, parents, and community members: Lindbergh Schools wants your nominations for #TeacherProud Tuesday! Tell us about a teacher who works in our schools who has made a difference in your life, and they might be selected to be featured on social media as part of #TeacherProud Tuesday, a statewide social media initiative that is designed to recognize outstanding teachers and promote public education. On the second Tuesday of each month, Missouri school districts will recognize a #TeacherProud Tuesday honoree for going above and beyond, and making a difference in the lives of students.

Staying Healthy During Flu Season

The holiday season means an increased risk for respiratory illness, but there are steps we can take to stay healthy.

  • Stay home when you are sick. This is the most important way to keep our friends and coworkers safe and protected.

  • Testing is one of our best tools to prevent the spread of COVID-19, along with getting vaccinated and boosted.

    • Learn when and how to take an at-home COVID-19 test here.

  • The CDC recommends that children age 6 months and older should get a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. The CDC also recommends boosters for children age 5 and up, at least 5 months after their second shot.

  • The CDC estimates that between 6,000 and 26,000 children younger than 5 are hospitalized each year in the United States due to influenza. The flu vaccine is safe and helps protect children from flu.

  • Did you know? Improving ventilation in your home can help you reduce virus particles and prevent respiratory viruses from spreading.

Senior Citizens are Invited to Celebrate the Holidays!

Lindbergh Schools will host a holiday Senior Associates event at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the Lindbergh High School Auditorium (5000 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, Mo. 63126).
