Summary of Flowers for Algernon
Flowers for Algernon is a character study of one man, Charlie Gordon. Charlie is a 32-year-old mentally disabled man who has the opportunity to undergo a surgical procedure that will dramatically increase his mental capabilities. He goes though with the surgery and gets really smart. After awhile he goes back to how he was at the beginning of the story. This procedure went through with a mouse named algneron and they could tell that algneron was slipping as well as Charlie.
Charlie Gordon
Charlie Gordon is the main character in the story. He is a test subject with mental disabilities.
Algernon
Algernon is a mouse that went under the same procedure as Charlie and was unlike most other mice. The mouse and Charlie met shortly after the first meet.
Miss. Kinnian
She was Charlie's teacher. She helped him read and write.
