(New) Student Support & Intervention on Wednesday, October 28th

Our teachers and staff are available on Wednesdays to help students with their learning. Beginning Wednesday, October 28th, we will offer additional student support and intervention that is available and accessible to all students. The goal is to dedicate time to increase our student achievement and success. We will use this time to supplement the interventions already happening every day for our students through individual or small group time (Zoom or in-person) to meet the learning needs of our students. Click the link below for more information.

Click here for more information about Student Support on Wednesdays.

(New) Teacher and Clerical Substitutes Needed

District 196 is in need of both Teacher and Clerical Substitutes. You can substitute teach with a 4 year degree in District 196 by obtaining a Short Call Substitute License at https://mn.gov/pelsb/. Along with that license, you will need to attend an orientation for Short Call Substitutes with District 196. Clerical subbing covers a wide variety of duties with very flexible hours. Please consider your availability and if you're able to help out. (New) Eastview School Store

Did you know Eastview has an online store where you can purchase Eastview apparel and accessories? All orders placed online will be available for pick up at the west entrance security desk, usually within 48 hours. Check it out at https://eastview-school-store.square.site/ . You can also find the link on the Eastview High School home page under Community. Happy shopping!

Your child may be eligible for free or reduced-price school meals

District 196 provides healthy meals each day for all students. And your family may qualify for free or reduced-priced school meals. If you participated in this program last school year and wish to participate again this year, you must submit a new application each year. This program also waives co-curricular activity fees for the student.

Federal funds and school-related fees are determined with this information. The failure to complete the application could result in the loss of millions of dollars to our school system, which would negatively affect teaching and learning in a significant way.

All students in our district are currently eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch through the extension of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s free meals program, however this funding is not guaranteed long-term. It is important families who qualify for free or reduced-price meals still apply this year.

To apply, click here, or visit https://paypams.com/Applynowisd196 or call 651-683-6958 if you need assistance filling out the application.

Free Lunches For All Students & Educational Benefits

The USDA announced a short-term program to provide school meals at no cost to all students. The program will last until funding runs out. We will announce when the program ends. Until then, all District 196 students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch every school day, whether in school or distance learning at home. A la carte items available at school are not included in this program. To order meals for your child to bring home for distance learning days, complete the take-home meal kit survey (click link below). If your child is enrolled in the 196 Digital Academy and you would like to receive a five-day meal kit each week, complete the 196 Digital Academy five-day meal kit survey (click link below).

Your family may qualify for educational benefits. This program waives co-curricular activity fees for the student. You are encouraged to apply with this link.
