Look Who’s Teaching Now!!

The students in Miss Patterson and Mrs. Sansone’s class "flipped the switch" and became the teachers! Each student was responsible for choosing a recipe, gathering the needed materials and teaching their classmates in person and virtually! Extended Learning Plan Announced, June 7 thru June 18 At OSSB

Dear Parents and Guardians,

With Governor DeWine's support, we are pleased to announce our Extended Learning Plan for all K-12 students. We are providing ten additional days of face to face learning on campus for our students from June 7th through June 18th. Our daily schedule will include core academic learning, expanded core curriculum, project-based learning, and other engaging enrichment activities. Resident life will continue to offer services to those students who qualify.

Transportation, detailed schedules, and more information is coming soon. Please reach out to our building administrators or to me with questions.

OSSB Girls on the Run "Takes Off"

Our 2021 Girls on the Run season has started! Our girls, coaches, and school's health and safety is priority #1, so we will be combining on-campus practices for residential students with virtual practices for day students. This program provides students with the opportunity to engage in activities that are not only fun but also educate the student in varying areas of their lives, promoting their physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being.

Practices are held twice a week for 8 weeks where girls will have fun, explore valuable lessons and find joy in physical activity! At the conclusion of the program, the students will participate in an on-campus 5k walk/run. Participating in Girls on the Run transforms girls’ lives by helping them increase their self-confidence, develop healthy relationships, and feel good about themselves, inside and out! ~ Mrs. Sally Williams and Ms. Courtney Hunkele

Science Can Be Tasty!!

Students in Mrs. Butler's class recently studied a science unit focused on learning about soil and its properties. To finish the unit, they made their own edible "dirt" cups with Mrs. Thomas and substitute teacher, Ms. McLaughlin. Instead of using topsoil, subsoil, and bedrock, students "layered" their dirt cups with chocolate chips, crushed up cookies, pudding, edible grass, and gummy worms. Photos show Jayven, Scotty, and Wesson as they work with their materials to create their project.
