Staff Spotlight
This month we are spotlighting our kinder staff. In kinder this school year our teachers are Michelle Cole and Angel Parsons. Working with them are Gabby Rivera-Mayberry and Sara Saad. Mrs. Parson's wants our community to know :I love teaching Kindergarten because they are so curious and are eager to learn. I love seeing their eyes light up when they realize they are learning to read. Plus all the hugs and “I love you” everyday is very rewarding!" Mrs. Gabby stated "I enjoy lending a helping hand to the kindergarten team and am thankful to be able to observe and assist the amazing kindergarten teachers on a daily basis as I finish up school myself. My favorite thing about working with kindergarten is of course the students. Their little personalities are adorable. It is such a joy to see them grow, learn and expand their knowledge." Mrs. Cole notes "Getting to teach Kindergarten is truly rewarding. In Kindergarten we begin to read, spell simple words, add, subtract and many other skills they will build on in the grades to come. So to get to see the aha Moment when they catch on is beyond rewarding!! The sweet notes and kid illustrated pictures are pretty awesome too!! I count my blessings everyday for being allowed to teach kindergarten."

ATTENDANCE REMINDERS
Please take note that there are a few changes this year to our attendance policy and how/why students would need to make up attendance hours. Every student must attend 93% of the days class is in session to receive credit. Once a student misses more than 93% they must complete attendance makeup to receive credit. Attendance make up is $5 per hour and completed during Night School (Tuesday/Thursday)(3:35-7:30pm) or Saturday school (8-3:30pm).
** Changes ** A student will be required to make up hours even with a doctor's note if they do not attend school on the day of the note. For an absence to count as a medical excuse and not count in the 93% rule, your student MUST attend school during the day either before or after their appointment. If they do not attend school it will count against their 93% rule and be subject to attendance makeup, even with a doctors excuse.
Please do not hesitate to call the school office (254-687-2922 ext 120) with any questions regarding this change.
NOTE: AFTERNOON ATTENDANCE DOES COUNT TOWARD MAKE UP HOURS
