St. Peter School News

May 9, 2022

St. Peter School exists to provide a nurturing environment where students become Disciples of Jesus Christ, embrace the love of lifelong learning, and believe in the dignity of all people.

“Never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin too much.

You can never love her more than Jesus did.”

- Saint Maximilian Kolbe

Dear Parents,

Happy May! May is the month of Mary. She can show us the way to Jesus and teach us how to know and love him. At St. Peter School, we will honor Mary through prayer and the Rosary this month.

Hail Mary,

Full of Grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women,

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners now,

and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Registration Process 2022 - 2023 School Year:

If you have not yet registered for the 2022-2023 school year or if you know someone who is interested in registering their PK-Grade 8 child, please contact the school office at 203-748-2895.

Preschool Changes for the 2022-2023 School Year:

Effective June 30, we will be discontinuing our School Readiness Program at St. Peter School. Families involved in this program were notified earlier this spring.

We will continue to provide preschool educational opportunities for three and four year old students through our Faith-Based Preschool Program. In addition to full day school, we will be offering part - time placements as well. We have a number of spaces to fill. If you have a three or four year old student or know someone who does, we would love to meet you and offer you a tour of our program. Call the school office and ask to speak to Mary Lou, Martha, or Marita.

Recently, the PK teacher brought some of the students to St. Peter Church in preparation for attendance at school Mass later this month. Check out the pictures in the Photo Gallery!

Teacher Appreciation Week:

This past week, our teachers were given special treats throughout the week to thank them for their dedication. A week is not enough to show these teachers how important they are in shaping the lives of the young people who sit before them every day, but we did want them all to know how grateful we are for their work with the students in some small way.

Holy First Communion - May 7, 2022:

Ms. Galli and I were delighted to witness St. Peter School students make their First Holy Communion on Saturday. The looked radiant in their beautiful dresses and suits. The students were reverent during the Mass and listened carefully to Fr. Mecca's homily about the beautiful gift they would be receiving that day. They also loudly and proudly sang "This Little Light of Mine" for their parents, guests, and friends. A special thank you goes out to Ms. Galli who did a marvelous job preparing these students for this sacrament.

Please say a prayer for these students that the peace of God will rest on them and that the joy of the Lord will fill their hearts. We pray that their union with Him will grow stronger with each passing day.

Closing Thoughts:

May the last quarter of the school year be filled with hope, new learning for all the students and opportunities for our 8th graders to truly reflect on where they have been and where they are headed as they get set to begin a new chapter in their educational career in 2022-2023.

Please take a look at the Important Dates section for updates which you may find of interest.
