Hawk Happenings!

Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy

Message from the Principal - Nov. 7, 2018

Happy Wednesday!

I have some really great news and a wonderful opportunity! Once again this year, our school was able to secure a matching grant from an anonymous (and extremely generous) donor for our Annual Fund. This donor has agreed to a donation of $20,000 that will be used to match donations collected from our school families. The school donations will be matched dollar for dollar up to $20,000. So, every dollar you donate gets doubled! For example, if you make a donation of $100, our school gets $200! This is fantastic news. It is also great timing. We really need to encourage our families to take part in the Annual Fund. At this point, we only have 18% participation and we need to have 100%. So, please take a little time to look at your financial situation and think about what you can give in support of our Annual Fund. Every $1 you donate is now worth $2! There are two easy ways to donate:

  1. Go online to https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/o5kPfZnwU-9YPZxE8gatew or
  2. You can fill out the pledge envelope and return to the office.

Don't forget, we have our Veterans' Day event tomorrow in the auditorium at 1:30 pm and school will be closed on Monday in honor of Veterans' Day! Have a wonderful week!

P.S. PLEASE make sure that you have signed up for a Fall conference with your child's (children's) teacher(s). See links below to sign up.

From the Development Desk

Annual Fund

Please show your support with a donation to the school’s Annual Fund Appeal! We have a lofty goal as we hope to raise $100,000. Many thanks to an anonymous donor who contributed $20,000 in matching funds. This is a great time to get your donation in as the funds will be matched dollar for dollar. We need 100% participation from our families and staff to make this goal. This fund is important to our school as it helps fund curriculum, staff training, financial aid, and many other initiatives. A fee of $50 will be billed to any family who does not make a donation by January 1, 2019.

You can easily make a donation online at: https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/o5kPfZnwU-9YPZxE8gatew or you can fill out the pledge envelope and return to the office. Any questions, please email: smckinney@holyrosarybilingual.org.

Thank You!

Finally, we want to thank the families/staff who have already sent in their pledges/payments.

St. Vincent de Paul Food Drive

Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy's Fall Service Project for the entire school is supporting St. Vincent de Paul at Thanksgiving time by having a Food Drive. Did you know that we have a St. Vincent de Paul office across the parking lot in the church office building? They provide assistance to people in a variety of ways! Each Thanksgiving, they put food baskets together so that they can make sure families have a nice meal. We are sending home a paper bag, along with a list of items that they can really use. Anything you would like to donate is appreciated. Please just make sure all items are non-perishable and not expired! Just return the bag with any food items to the school by Friday, Nov. 16th and we will make sure it gets to the right people. Thank you for your help!

Also, sports photos will be taken for CYO Cross Country. Students should bring their cross country shirt and shorts that day to change into for their photo.
