The God of the Islamic faith is Allah. Followers of Islam are Muslims. Their teachings are in their holy book called the Koran. They move from one sacred site to another. There place of worship is called a mosque and there worship leader is called an imam. There holy days are Ramadan and the annual hajj. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic year and the annual hajj is the most holy holiday of the Muslim holidays. They dress up in white so they can be equal and they go to the Kaaba. Their most holy city is mecca where the Kaaba is located. Devout Muslims go there at least once in their life. They believe that Abraham built the Kaaba and that there was a rock inside the box that Abraham stood on top of. Their holy figure is Abraham. The five pillars of Islam are: Belief, Prayer, Charity, Fasting, and Pilgrimage to Mecca. They are monotheist like Christianity and Judaism. They pray 5 times a day, fast during the month of Ramadan and give 5% of their savings to the poor and needy.
