News and Notes from the Principal
With Homecoming over, Fall here and the first nine weeks ending it is important to ensure you are aware of your student/students academic standing! As a resource that we provide to all parents, PowerSchool Parent Portal is a great resource to not only stay up-to-date with regards to your child/children's academic standing but also a platform to check their absences and timeliness to class on a day to day basis.
With the first 9 weeks ending, the schedule continues to build and there are many upcoming events/activities to be aware of at RHHS. One significant event that comes on the heels of Fall Break is our: October 13 - SAT/PSAT/Digital Learning Day. On this day students in the following grade levels will complete the following expectations:
- 9Th Grade Students: Will complete MBF Teen Safety Matters Training with advisees. Upon completion, students will attend their respective 3rd and 4th Block classes. .
- 10th Grade Students: Will complete the PSAT. Upon completion, students will attend their respective 3rd and 4th Block classes. .
- 11th Grade Students:11th grade students not taking the PSAT will not report to campus as this day will serve as a Digital Learning Day, they will have a pre-planned advisement activity to complete. 11th Grade Students taking the PSAT will be dismissed upon completion.
- 12th Grade Students:12th grade students not pre-registered to take the SAT will not report to campus as this day will serve as a Digital Learning Day, they will have a pre-planned advisement activity to complete. 12th Grade Students taking the PSAT will be dismissed upon completion.
We look forward to the week ahead! Please take some time over the weekend to rest, relax and recharge for the full week ahead before breaking for Fall Break!

Important Reminders
- Attendance: As it relates to attendance and expectations regarding the check out process, please exercise the following should your child need to leave early: send in a signed note and have your student drop it by the attendance office in the morning. Phone calls, emails and faxes are not accepted. Please be sure to include a good contact number for verification. Once verified, the student will be given a class dismissal note, and sign themselves out.
Congratulations to our Commended Students!
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2022 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the PSAT in 2020.Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success, and congratulate them on their achievement!

ASVAB Sign Up
Whether you’re planning on college, a technical school, the military, or you’re just not sure yet, the ASVAB Career Exploration Program can put you on the right path toward a satisfying career. Understanding your skills and interests will help you make the best decisions about your future. The ASVAB is a career exploration 'battery', or series of tests, that assists students in clarifying career goals.
- It is a cost-free and comprehensive program for high school students.
- Students explore occupations in line with interests and skills, and develop strategies to realize career goals.
- The Program presents a full-spectrum of career opportunities to students.
- Career planning tool regardless of post-secondary intentions.

Advanced Placement (AP) Exam Registration
AP Exam registration is open now for students enrolled in year-long and semester 1 only AP classes. Exam fees are $100 each ($145 for Seminar and Research). Exam registration process includes two steps: joining each teacher’s AP classroom (myAP.collegeboard.org) and registering and paying for exams on Total Registration (www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/112525).
Students who are in an AP class now must register and pay for exams no later than Monday, November 8, 2021. We will have a second registration window for students who have semester 2 only AP classes. Please contact Mrs. Tanner (mtanner@bryan.k12.ga.us) if you have questions about AP or the registration process.
Athletic Ticketing - Go Fan
Richmond Hill High School and Richmond Hill Athletics are excited to announce the use of Go Fan for our sporting events. Go Fan allows all event spectators to purchase tickets prior to events, or at the gate through your mobile device, avoid long lines, and limit person to person contact. Parking Permits
All students parking on campus, including dual enrolled students must have a parking permit. Parking permits should be displayed by the first day of school, August 3, 2021.
