Lincoln ALL Call for Female Phenomes--A way to get involved!

Lincoln ALL Call for Female Phenomes

Looking for female phenomes to support alternative recess activities. (Mom’s, Aunts, Older sisters, grandma’s significant females)

Days-Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (one day each week)


Place-LRC or Music Room, or outside (south lawn or courtyard)

Individuals need to be background checked and fingerprinted by Kane County–pick up paperwork in advance from our office and need to do this by appointment only.

Activities of your choice, or maker space choices.

Principal's Desk

As spring break comes to a close, I hope everyone had time to relax and recharge for our final 7 weeks of school. Upon return, we will review all schoolwide expectations and we have built in some exciting fun activities over these next few weeks. We have an opportunity for females to get involved through support during lunch recess giving our kids options to play, learn and grow under the supervision of females that are important in their lives. We will have a therapy dog visiting Lincoln to support students through comfort and being able to be read to. Selected students have been identified, and if there is more room we will open the opportunity to others that are intereted.

We also have the opportunity for running club, which will begin immediately upon return--if you have a son or daughter in grades 3-5 that are interested in running, goal setting, and achieving the accomplishment of a 5K at the end please sign them up for this, the information below and action required. (A separate email was shared).

We also have our schoolwide service project sponsored by the student council on April 25 at Feed My Starving Children. (Information below). We will continue WATCH D.O.G.S. on Fridays.

In addition upon return, we will begin our Illinois Assessment for Readiness for grades 3-5. Below is the first week's schedule.

Please make sure your child is well-rested, has a good breakfast, and is on time to school on these dates. This will help set them up for success as they take these assessments. They will also need to bring the following items to school with them each day:

  • Chromebook FULLY charged and ready to go

  • Earbuds - (check to ensure they are working, please)

  • Book to read (Hard Copy)

  • Writing Utensil

We will honor two students a week throughout the year. There aren't specific requirements, some may be recognized due to the percentage of lessons completed, or the number of minutes they worked on iReady, others may be recognized for improvement and growth.

Breakfast at Lincoln

Currently,Lincoln students order breakfast with the online form and pick it up at the end of the day to take home. After Spring Break, this will change. Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria before school only and it does not need to be preordered. Students will continue filling out the online form with their teacher if they want lunch from OrganicLife.

5th Grade Choir Concert

The 5th Grade Choir Concert will be held on Tuesday, May 3, at 5:30 pm in the Munhall gymnasium. Choir members will meet in the music room at 5:15 and should wear their choir t-shirts and dark-colored pants. At this time, the district is asking that the audience continue to be limited to 4 people per musician to best maintain social distancing between families. We are looking forward to a fantastic performance from these talented singers!

Below is a letter for parents that would like to share information that will help the Lincoln staff when we are creating class lists, please read this as there is a deadline for these letters.

Equity Audit Parent Focus Groups

As part of the District’s equity audit, parent 1-hour focus groups will be held across the District via Zoom during April to allow families to share their thoughts on our District’s strengths, areas of need, and long-term opportunities for providing the best educational experience for all students. Our partners will construct and lead focus groups in the equity audit process- the Consortium for Educational Change (CEC). There will be morning and evening focus groups available for parents. Every school’s goal is to have 15 families agree to participate in a focus group. During the week of March 21, a member of our school staff will begin calling parents from a document with families’ names listed in random order to invite prospective participants to be part of a focus group and at that time will share specific dates and times. All parents are welcome to email your written responses to the focus group questions to CEC should you not be selected to participate in a focus group but desire to share your opinions (A list of the focus group questions and a place for submitting your answers to them will be posted on the District website beginning April 4). We thank you for your commitment to equity in education, and we are excited about this next step in gathering the voices of our District to create a comprehensive plan for moving forward. Grupos de Enfoque para Padres para la Auditoría de Equidad

Como parte de la auditoria de equidad del distrito, se llevarán a cabo grupos de enfoque para padres de una hora alrededor del distrito mediante Zoom durante el mes de abril para darles a las familias la oportunidad de compartir sus opiniones en los puntos fuertes de nuestro distrito, las áreas de necesidad y las oportunidades a largo plazo para ofrecer la mejor experiencia educativa a todos los estudiantes. Lincoln Service Project-Only a few spots left

Feed my starving children is an organization that helps those around the world in need of food by distributing nutritious meals to countries all around the globe. As a nonprofit organization, they distribute food to those that are malnourished and in need of food. By coming to this event, as a school, we will be able to help many people in need by helping them produce these meals. It is optional to come and help and if that night does not work it is okay.

Who: Lincoln students and families (children 5 years and older)

What: Feed my starving children volunteer night

Why: To help those in need and food may be scarce
