Sept.- Scholls Heights Knights
Reminder- Kindergarten Orientation/Kindergarten Back to School Night Tomorrow
Meeting ID# 976 2315 3761
It has been wonderful hearing about the students and visiting Zoom Meetings! Erika (our new assistant principal) and I are scheduling times to reconnect with previous students and meet new students during one of their teacher's meeting time.
The following quote was shared with me. Unfortunately, I do not recall who it is from but thought it was important to share with staff and families. “Let's give this school year the opportunity to be awesome! Don't throw a label or judgement on it before it begins. It may just surprise us in big, beautiful ways!”
Back to School Night is next week for grades 1-5 and ISC. This is an opportunity to hear what is going on in your child's grade level and hear from the teachers. We have spaced out the grade level times in hopes that parents will have an easier time if they have children in different grade levels.
Teachers will be sending more information out to families. Here are the dates and times:
5:00-5:45 PM 1st
6:00-6:45 PM 2nd
7:00-7:45 PM 4th
5:00-5:45 PM 3rd
6:00-6:45 PM 5th
7:00-7:45 PM ISC
7:00-7:45 PM Music and PE
The beginning of the school year is an important time for teachers to get to know their students and establish routines. As we move to more rigorous learning, please know that the teachers and staff are here to support you and your child. We also want families to be aware that teachers will be reviewing all assignments and activities submitted through SeeSaw, but will not be able to give a response to all of them. However, all activities will be documented towards their proficiency. Attending live instruction is important but if a family is unable, live instruction will be recorded for access later. Activity in SeeSaw will count as attending for the day. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.
We are excited to begin this journey with you and look forward to partnering with you for the success of your child(ren)!

A beautiful video message from One Voice Children's Choir. Thank you everyone!
Books on the Go
“Books on the Go” will be starting Wednesday, September 23, from 12:30-2:00 PM underneath the Scholls Heights covered playground area. Students will be able to return their old library books and check out new books during this time. Books bundles will be available in different reading levels for all of our students. Beginning in October, there will be an additional book return and book bundle check out time. A Book Bus will make several stops in the Scholls Heights area for library book check in and check out. More information on the Book Bus will be coming soon.

iPads and Dreambox
Due to some issues with Apple Management Server, some iPads are not registering all the updated apps that students will need. It is reported that 344 iPads do not have Dreambox installed. Dreambox won’t work without the app.
We are working on a fix, but if families are still experiencing trouble, resetting the iPad will fix it:
Resetting (wiping) the iPad:
- Open the Settings app
- Go to General
- Scroll down to Reset
- Choose Erase all Contents and Settings and agree to the confirmation pop-ups.
- Wait for the iPad to present the Hello setup assistant screen
- Press the home button and choose your language and country
- Connect to your home Wi-Fi when prompted.
- Continue to press the Next button in the top right corner to get through the setup assistant
- Once complete simply wait for the apps to load and contact us if the apps don’t complete loading within an hour.
Grab-and-Go School Meal Sites
The start of school is right around the corner, and our Nutrition Services department has been hard at work developing a plan for providing meals during Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL). We have just received waivers from the USDA which allow any child (age 1-18) to pick up free meals.
Here’s a look at how meals will be distributed this fall:
- Parents or guardians may pick up meals for students who are not present.
- Meal pickups will occur two days per week: Tuesday (2 days of food) and Thursday (3 days of food) from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Meals will be packaged with breakfast and lunch together.
- Masks must be worn by anyone picking up meals.
