Hallway Social Distancing
Dear Walnut Hill Families,
2020 was quite the year! Although it has been a year of change, flexibility and adaptation, our Wildcats have persevered. Despite all that has been thrown their way, our students continue to amaze us. With the upcoming transition to 100% in-person learning, I wanted to take a few moments to highlight the safety precautions that we have had in place and will continue to practice.
· Thorough sanitizing of all high traffic areas throughout the day
· Sanitizing in the classrooms during the school day
· Assigned seating to limit exposure
· Safe social distancing in the lunchroom, hallways and at arrival and dismissal
· Plastic shields between students during lunch
· 100% compliance with mask wearing
· Continuous teaching about the importance of wearing masks the appropriate way and proper hand washing
· Students have their own materials- we are not currently sharing
· Thoughtful classroom designs to ensure the safest arrangement possible
· Hallways are marked with visuals to indicate where to stand to ensure safe social distancing
· Recess zones- classes are spread out when out at recess
Thank you for trusting us with your most prized possessions. Safety is our number one priority and it is our HONOR to serve our Walnut Hill families. My door is always open for comments, concerns or questions. Please do not hesitate to reach out. I also very much look forward to having many visits from you all when it is safe to do so.
Respectfully Yours,
Nikki Longlee

RETURN TO SCHOOL: Student Safety is Our Priority
Superheroes Wear Masks!
As we prepare to transition back to in-person attendance, Covid-19 is still affecting our community. We will continue following the CDC and Douglas County Health Department guidelines which include good hand-washing (20 seconds of scrubbing with soap and water), staying 6 feet apart, and wearing adequate coverings over our mouth and nose.
STAYING HOME. If students have symptoms or have been exposed to a person who tested positive for Covid-19 with or without symptoms, that child needs to stay home. Also if a students has a fever, chills, stomachache, vomiting, diarrhea, cough, and/or headache, they need to stay home.
Please call Walnut Hill’s school nurse at 531-299-2202 if you have any questions. Thank you for caring for the health of our Walnut Hill Family.
