Central Elementary: Helping All Kids Find Their Genius

Week of February 8

Message from Mrs. Hill

I have a challenge for you for the month of February! Ready?

Think of ways to PLAY as a family! Outside games, exercise, unstructured play...so important for families to experience! Family game nights are also a great way to interact as a family and to foster lifelong skills such as learning to win, learning to lose, critical thinking, and problem solving. We challenge you to think of ways you can incorporate family play into your weekly routine! A few minutes a week makes a big difference!

Super Bowl Friday was a fun time had by all! Yes, there might have been some friendly competition conversations...but it was all in good fun!

Please remember to continue scanning receipts into your Shoparoo app so you can help our school! We want to have more technology for our kids. If you are new to Shoparoo, see the information below in this flyer so you can get started!

Remember that school is in session on February 15 since we had a snow day in January. Class pictures will be taken on this day.

Follow our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter feeds to see updates and exciting happenings in our school! Information at the end of this flyer will help you get plugged in! Follow our celebrations and learning!

Have a wonderful week!

Your Lead Learner,

Mrs. Hill

Shoparoo Update

WE DID IT!! $300!!!!!

We have earned $300 for our school through Shoparoo! As of Sunday afternoon we have accumulated over 154,000 Roo Points, and have 108 supporters. Every little amount helps, so between Shoparoo, Box Tops, Marcos Pizza, and any other initiative we take on, we can earn cash rewards for our school and avoid fundraising as much as possible.

Now, let's focus on getting to $500 before spring break!

You can join Shoparoo with the following code: lang5526

Tell your friends and family to join in as a supporter and start scanning!

What Will Shoparoo Funds Help Purchase?

We need more Chromebooks for our students. The goal is to have a 1:1 setting in third and fourth grades! This means there is a Chromebook (laptop device) for each student´s use throughout a school day. We have several devices currently and want to add more. We would also like to add to our second grade classrooms in the future, and have 1:1 devices for our kindergarten and first grade kids.

Box Tops for Education

Our school collects Box Tops for Education, so please be saving these at home! We are hoping to purchase a brand new flag pole for our campus. The funds we raise with Box Tops will help us achieve our goal.

Below are links to some collection pages for Box Tops. You are free to print these, or you may ask your child to pick up a sheet at school! We will have them available for you.

We will offer bookstore coupons to kids who return filled Box Tops sheets! These coupons will give them discounts on items in our bookstore. We will be purchasing more items for our store and will soon share those with you!

We have already earned over $700 this school year! Let's keep collecting!
