Lakeview Summer Update
July 8, 2016
It's Coming....
I am excited about the year ahead. I feel so much better going into this year since I have a full year under my belt at this time. I knew that changing districts would be a challenge, but I had no idea, how difficult that learning curve would be. I appreciate your support and patience this past year, as I got acclimated and figured out Lakeview Jr. High and the district of Pickerington.
As most of you have probably heard, Roshawn Parker will be joining us from Pickerington High School North as the lead assistant principal. He has been in a little this summer getting the scoop and learning how things operate currently at the Jr. High level. I am excited for the perspective that he will bring from the high school and think he will offer some new ideas and approaches from his experience. I am also excited about the connections I believe he will be able to make with our students.
Please take some time and read the information below. If you have questions, don't hesitate to give me a call or email me. I have already taken my vacation, so I should be working the rest of the summer.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I think the weather has been absolutely wonderful and have enjoyed the sunshine and long days myself.
Closures
When in doubt, ask me or Denise before coming to your classroom so you don't waste a trip.
Most Up-To-Date Schedule
Please take a look at the schedule and let me know if you see any major problems or concerns. The more eyes that review it, the better. I would rather catch mistakes or problems now than when we have 800 students trying to get their schedules.

Classroom Concerns
Speaking of whiteboards....be careful of what you use on the boards. We have one classroom where we must replace the board as the finish has been ruined from a harsh cleaner being used on it repeatedly. Chris is checking into a cleaner that can be used that we can get to everyone. So, in the meantime, please just use water. If you need something stronger....see a custodian. If it says it's a "degreaser" absolutely, do not use it.
Also, the inspector was in and said that ALL bookshelves that are free standing must be mounted to the wall. Therefore, if you have brought in a free-standing bookshelf, please remove it from your classroom. We will not be mounting them to the walls at this time.
