A Note From Mrs. Waters
Thank you for coming to Back-to-School Night. I hope you were informed. Please let email me know if you ever have questions or concerns.
As I mentioned yesterday evening, my husband and I are adopting, but the timing has changed. I will not be taking maternity leave at this point in the year.
Your child's green home folder went home today in their backpacks. There is not much inside, but I want your child to get use to bringing it home on Thursday and returning it to school on Sunday.
Please note, homework will not be sent home until after Eid. It will come home for the first time on September 18.
Below you will see what we will be working on in our class next week, and you will find important dates. Attached to this the email, you will find the parent letters for our units of study in Reading, Writing, Math, and Social Studies.

Lower Elementary Birthday Policy
It is permitted for students to celebrate their birthdays at school during snack time by sharing a treat with their peers. Parents are highly encouraged to send in the treats first thing in the morning with their child. Teachers need to receive prior notification from the parent and every effort should be made to schedule these celebrations with no interruption to instructional time. Birthday treat bags are not permitted and will not be distributed to students. Any bags sent to school will be returned home with the student. We kindly ask for parent support in this matter in order not to disappoint students. Additionally, the intention of the class birthday celebration is for your child to celebrate with his/her classmates, and therefore school age siblings are not permitted to attend. Birthday invitations will not be distributed/placed in student’s home folders unless the entire class is invited or only students of the same gender are invited. Unfortunately we cannot forward electronic birthday cards on your behalf. When two or three students are left out of a birthday party invitation given out by a classmate, it is extremely upsetting, therefore disruptive to the class.
