The Lion's Share
Back to School 2019
Message from the Principal:
How can it be possible that we are about two weeks away from the start of the 19/20 school year?!
To the families that are new to Settler's Point, welcome to the Pride! To all of our returning families, we can't wait for another successful school year! We have been busy all summer getting everything ready for the return of students on August 1st.
If you are interested in working for Settler's Point, please fill out an application online or email me. We have multiple positions open that range from full to part time. Some involve working with kids in the classroom setting, some will be covering lunch/recess duty, and some will be for crossing guard positions. If you'd like more information, please call/email us.
As you "gear up" for Settler's Point's 20th school year, here is some important information to know.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
Robert Bircher

Annual Update:
Infinite Campus (IC) is our student information database. We use this information to contact parents if there is an injury, determine who can remove a child from school, where to send notices, collect important health information, etc.
Please take the five minutes to ensure that we have the most current contact information.
GPS Family Handbook/Calendar:
Settler's Point Office Hours
We will be open from 7:00-4:00 daily starting June 22.
New Visitor Procedure:
Rather than using the sticker visitor badge as we have in the past, when you sign in on campus, we will ask for your ID in exchange for one of these badges. Once you return the badge, we will give the ID back.
We had noticed that the previous system was not effective as it could have been. Some people were using stickers for multiple days, we were inconsistently asking for ID, and we didn't have a clear picture of who was on campus.
By using the ID as collateral, it forces us to ask for ID, gives us a clear idea of who is on campus, and can be a deterrent, as these will be harder to duplicate.
As with any new procedure, change can be difficult, but we are confident that this will help ensure the safety of all our students.
