August 2021
Welcome back August 5, 2021
Welcome Black Diamond Families,
We are so excited to begin this year with our students and families! Although our community of Antioch is still struggling a bit, we are prepared for our students return and have systems in place to help make this a safe year for all. Listed below are just a few notes for your information before school starts.
- Students and staff will wear mask all day except when eating or drinking. Students may be allowed to remove mask for some PE activities at the discretion of the teacher.
- Classes resume on Thursday, August 5th. This will be a full day ending at 2:55pm. The gates to campus will open at 8am. All staff will be present to greet students and to ensure they can find their way to class schedules if needed and or their classrooms. We hope to have about a dozen 8th grade students who are familiar with the campus, providing tours for students in the morning. Look for students in bright green t-shirts when you arrive.
- Traditionally, parents would accompany students to their 1st period classes and tour the campus, but due to COVID protocols, that will not be possible this year. Parents will need to remain outside of the gate.
- Class schedules should be available on Aeries before school starts. Students may also pick up a schedule in the Tag Room, room 202, Thursday morning. Just follow the signs.
- Students will tour the campus with one of their classes during the day to help them become familiar with the site.
- Students will move with bells during the day. There is a five minute passing period between class periods but not lunch. A bell rings to signal class changes and again to indicate that you must be in class.
- Please bring a filled water bottle to keep you hydrated during the day.
- Teachers will provide supply list, information on PE clothing and any other needed information during Thursday and Friday.
If you have questions about anything, please call the school or email annahernandez@antiochschools.net . P. James, Principal
