Notes from Onondaga Road
March 23, 2023
Message From Onondaga Road School Principal
Hello, Onondaga Road Families -
I think spring is finally upon us! The time change always affects us in different ways, but I sure am a fan of it being lighter later in the day.
We have been busy at school! Not only are we learning to read and write, but we have also had many fun events in the past few weeks: an author visit, a science fair, a performance by some very talented Irish Dancers, and pizza luncheons. All of these events help us to build our knowledge and promote positive relationships. Thank you all for particpating and for supporting our children.
Remember that the week of April 3-7 is Spring Break week, and schools are closed at that time.
Happy Ramadan! And Happy Easter! Enjoy the time with your family and friends!
Respectfully,
Jeannette Clark

PTA News
Syracuse Crunch Chuck-A-Puck Night
This Saturday night, March 25, is Onondaga Road night at the Crunch Hockey game! At last count, there were 74 tickets sold, and we are hoping to get to 100! You can get tickets here www.syracusecrunch.com/pta. Make sure you have PTA in the code box, because the game is otherwise sold out!
We need your help working at the "chuck-a-puck" table! This is a fundraiser for our 4th grade end of year events, and anyone can sign up to help by using this Sign Up Genius link (below). You can email Kimberly Schultz with any questions at kschultz@westgenesee.org.
KEEP READING...THIS IS EXCITING!... Any Onondaga Road students can go out on the ice to help retrieve the pucks after the second period! It will be fun! Parents, walk your child to Section 101 when there are five minutes left in the second period. And kids, be sure to wear sneakers or boots to walk the ice (no skates!).
Pick Up Your Gertrude Hawk Order Thursday, March 30
We anticipate our Gertrude Hawk orders to arrive at school next week! If you ordered any goodies, please plan to pick up your order Thursday evening, March 30, at 3:45-7:00 p.m. Please note that orders will not be ready to distribute prior to that time, and pick-up during dismissal time is not possible. Please wait until our buses have left the school lot before you park to come in for your orders, beginning at 3:45. Thank you for your orders to help support our children through the PTA, and thank you for helping us to keep our dismissal process safe and efficient on the 30th!
