Summer is here!

Unbelievable how fast the spring semester went by. We made it through, with ups and downs, and a lot of adjustments from teachers, administrators, students, and parents. We want to thank everyone for taking action to keep every person safe during the pandemic. Thank you for showing your Lipscomb Lion spirit while we adjusted to our new way of learning!

There are some activities you can use this summer to have fun and close the academic gap. Please use this newsletter as a source of information and to access the recommended materials sent by our librarian, nurse, and teachers.

We hope this summer break brings a little peace to everyone's household. Stay safe, and relax!

DISD Parent Survey

Please complete the parent survey to help our district make the best decisions for our students for the 2020-2021 school year.
Virtual Library

Ms.Acevedo created a virtual library for our students. It has many links that students can visit over the summer for books, stories, and games.

From our administrators

If your child is leaving Dallas ISD, then we will need for you to return the DISD issued Chromebook, iPad, or HotSpot that was issued to you. If your child will be returning to Lipscomb or another DISD school next fall, you will check in the device when we return to school. Please call 972-794-7300 to let us know if you will be leaving Dallas ISD and need to return the device.

If you were unable to pick up your child’s materials last week, please email with your child’s name and teacher’s name. We may be able to arrange a pickup time with you. If you do not send an email or we are unable to coordinate another time, we will keep all materials on the stage for distribution in August.

The Year to Remember!

This school year will forever be in the minds of our students as the one they learned how to own their learning and succeed while far away from their teachers and friends. It is also the year we commemorate the 100th year from our building's first stone.

What a year to remember! And as a keepsake, you can order a yearbook. We will be including as many pictures as we can get. You can place your orders here. Yearbooks will be hand out at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.

If you have a photo from any school event or your kid at school, and you think it would be good to include in the yearbook, you can send it to the Yearbook Email.

Food Benefit for DISD students

Dallas ISD families, because Dallas ISD offers free meals to all its students, all families are eligible to receive the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), a one-time benefit provided by the State of Texas for eligible families to buy food.

The P-EBT of $285 per child is available for families that may have temporarily lost access to free and reduced-price meals because of school closures due to COVID-19. The amount is based on the average number of days schools are closed for the remainder of the school year.

Families who received benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, in March of 2020 will have the benefit deposited into their account. Those families who are not receiving SNAP benefits but whose children attend Dallas ISD schools will have to fill out an application to receive the funds. You can apply for this benefit by visiting

For more information and about this benefit, download the letter and the application instruction below.
