Changes
- We will no longer be using CBM as our screener for K-3 Math. . We will use data for academics, behavior and attendance to determine need.
- If the student is EC--they do not need Tier paperwork but the IEP team should be convened for discussions. Data and Intervention logs should be kept for the IEP Team to determine growth or lack of growth.
- Intervention Logs and Progress Monitoring Data will be utilized to ensure the student is responding to Intervention.
- Intervention "Protocol" to ensure we are using the BEST and research based interventions--we will be utilizing this protocol document with recommendations of best choices for interventions.
Tier 1
As a school and grade level, we look at data and problem solve all areas below 80% proficiency. The lowest deficit is chosen as a focus for the grade level to "fill the hole" for all students in the class or grade.

Tier II
The lowest deficit will be targeted with research based interventions (see Intervention Protocol). Students will be monitored through progress monitoring to ensure that the interventions are working. If the student is not making progress, the PLC will participate in problem solving to determine if the intervention should be changed, intensified or duration increased. If the child continues to NOT respond to this extra layer of instruction--the recommendation will be made for the Student Support Team (SST) to problem solve the child's academics, behavior or attendance and the instruction being given to determine next steps.
Parent Notification and Conference at Tier II level.
Tier III
More Data is collected at this level including vision, speech, social development history, etc.
Parent Notification and conference is required at this level.
Math Protocol
2. Triangulate this information with K-2 EOY Assessment, BOY Assessment(informal assessments used by teacher at beginning of the year if available) and Fall Assessment.
3. Identify the sequence of skills needing to be taught based on the deficit using ________flipchart.
