Randle High School Updates

Dear Parents/Guardians and students,

I am writing to inform you about the additional targeted learning opportunity our school will be providing this spring. We will begin offering SUMMER SCHOOL NOW to students who are currently or endanger of failing for the second semester. We understand some students may have struggled to pass the 4th 6-weeks grading period. We truly believe if given the opportunity to complete missing assignments, your students could improve their 4th 6-weeks average to passing grade and possibly could avoid having to attend real summer school.

We are offering your child an opportunity to make up low grades and missing assignment by completing modules through our credit restoration program Edgenuity. In order to participate in this program, students must commit to staying afterschool Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm – 5:30pm (Transportation will be provided for each for students). All Students will have to complete assigned Edgenuity modules in an assigned computer. Trained staff members will provide instruction and monitored attendance daily.

We are very pleased to be able to support child’s learning in this way. Your child’s education and wellbeing is our top priority. In addition to the Summer School Now provided through the Initiative, all our teachers are working hard to provide a teaching and learning program that targets the needs of every child in the school.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to an Associate Administrator, Dr. Guillory.

Class of 2024

Exciting news! Current sophomores, class of 2024, are invited to join us on a once-in-a-lifetime international travel experience with their peers to Paris and Mediterranean Europe in Summer 2024, led by Coach Hernandez!

Educational travel exposes students to new people, places, and cultures which in turn expands their knowledge of the world and their knowledge of themselves. That’s why I’m thrilled to bring this opportunity to your family and our community.

This trip will fill up fast, so please join my informational meeting to learn:

  • How this opportunity will benefit your child
  • What we’ll see and do on our trip
  • Everything that’s included in this experience
  • How your child can earn academic credit
  • How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
  • How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period

Our meeting will be held on March 29th at 6:00 PM - there are limited spots available so don’t miss your opportunity to reserve your seat. One parent must be in attendance.

So that I can alert you of any changes to this meeting, you must register using this link: https://bit.ly/35Xfctm

Cell Phone Policy

We take your child’s education seriously. As we prepare for the upcoming STAAR End-of -Course exams, we wanted to place an importance on minimizing distractions. Beginning Monday, March 7, 2022, we are instituting a no cell phone policy during class.

Students are allowed to bring cell phones to school and are allowed to use them before school, during lunch, and after school. Phones should not be visible and in use between passing periods or during class, unless students are provided permission by the teacher. Cell phones have become a distraction.

For clarification, cell phones can be in the student's possession, but the phone must be put away during the instruction. If a student has their cell phone visible, without teacher/staff member permission, they will be asked to give their cell phone to the teacher/staff member. They will receive their cell phone at the end of the day from the front office. The following information will be posted in every classroom:

  • Phones must be put away at ALL TIMES during instructional time, unless there is an instructional purpose GIVEN by the teacher. If you refuse to follow this expectation, it will result in a discipline referral. (NOTE: Phones are allowable before 8:15 AM, during the student's 30-minute lunch time, and after 3:40 PM.)
  • Ignoring a teacher or staff member when they ask that to put away your cell phone will result in a discipline referral.
  • All students must have their planner hall pass signed by a teacher to be out of their scheduled class. Students without a pass will receive a discipline referral.
  • Instigating, participating, or video recording any type of altercation, harassing/bullying, or any other student code of conduct offenses with your cell phone will result in a discipline referral and possible alternative school placement.

Please know that educating our Randle High School students is our number one priority, and we place a precedence on having a safe and secure school. We appreciate your support and partnership in maintaining an environment and culture where learning is the focus.
