Worthingway Middle School Updates
Our greatest challenge has been Community Time - it has been a struggle for students because it is the only time they get to spend socializing with friends. We understand the challenge this presents and we will be reminding students to continue to remain 6 feet apart and to wear masks when they are within 6 feet. If students are more than 6 feet apart, they may take 'mask breaks.' Your help reiterating this at home is greatly appreciated. I hope we can get back to normal soon! These measures will help us get there.
We are going to allow students to form new Community Time pods next week to give them the opportunity to reconnect with other friends and make new friends.
I also want to add a quick reminder that there is no school on Tuesday, 11/3, Voting Day. Our staff will have a professional development day, but students will not attend. Thank you!
The Panorama survey is used to help us (school staff) better understand student well-being. We will use this data to plan additional school supports for our students.
Food Service Update
On October 9, 2020, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced the extension of all Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Optoin (SSO) waivers, allowing schools to offer meals to all children at no charge through the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
This extension will allow Worthington City School Food Services the ability to provide School Meals Free of charge to all school aged children for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.
