Awareness of Global Warming
By Brooklyn Iverson
What Is Global Warming?
a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants.
Evidence of this Happening.
The rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years and possibly the warmest for several millennia, according to a number of climate studies. And the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that 11 of the past 12 years are among the dozen warmest since 1850. The Arctic Is also feeling these affects. The arctic is quickly disparaging which if this were to happen it wouldn't be very good.
What Causes most of this to happen.
Volcanic Eruptions
These eruptions contain dust particles and gases like sulphur dioxide which stay in the atmosphere for years and block the sunlight from reaching the surface of the Earth making it cool.
Industrial Advancement
More and more industries and factories are set up in this modern world to meet the needs of human beings. These big factories need large amount of fuels like coal, petroleum for power and electricity required by the machines to work. Burning of these fuels releases large amount of carbon dioxide which absorbs the harmful radiations from the sun making it warm, hence global warming.
Human Activities
It has been said that human activities are primarily responsible for global warming. These activities are destroying the Earth at a faster rate. The emission of carbon dioxide from the vehicles, the burning of the fuels, cutting down of trees and forest to build buildings and malls, the dumping of trash everywhere and not recycling it, excessive use of plastics, smoke from the factories, etcetra.
How to Prevent Greenhouse Effect
Ways to lessen the greenhouse effect some tips. 1 car pool with other people, Walk and reuse, reduce and recycle. We can prevent these by doing good and clean things to the environment.
