Week 9 ~ October 13

Fundraiser Update

Wowzers! Our Fundraiser was a HUGE success! For sure, we will paint the gym and add some graphic art / murals / pictures to the walls (in the cafe and gym, for sure). We will then make a prioritized list of additional items needed. Talk to your team leads if you have suggestions. For example, Mrs. Nanney wondered about black out blinds in the gym. I thought this was super smart (dances, movie night, glow run, Veterans Day, etc.)! Ms. Valencia has requested some instruments.

If you would like to be on the graphic art / mural / picture committee, please let me know.

Please thank the specials team and the front office team for their contributions in pulling this fundraiser off! We went from 48% profit to an 85% profit because of their efforts!

Winner! Winner!

Mrs. Wade's class won for top contribution! Mrs. Wade, come see me for your prize!

1st grade won top grade level! 1st grade, you have earned recess / lunch / +15 minutes for an off-campus paid for lunch. Let me know when you want to go!

Videos + Expectations

Let's learn more about our strengths. Each video is approximately 1 minute in length. Please watch each video and think about the people who exhibit these strengths. Do you see this strength in your interactions with these people, or is it a hidden talent?

To Do

Life Changing?

Maybe not that dramatic, but Friends, I learned something at the Tech PLC this week, that has significantly decreased the number of emails in my inbox! What?!? Incredible!

You, too, can reduce the number of emails in your inbox.

Open your email tab. Click the gear. Click "Configure Inbox". Click "Promotions" and save.

All new emails will be separated into your regular inbox and a promotions tab. No more junk mail in your primary inbox, but the promotional mail is still viewable via your promotion tab.

Thanks, Susan Bly, for showing me this! I was super excited to open my inbox this morning!

October

From now on, I will only update this section monthly.

The calendar below is clickable for easier viewing options.

Jeans will be Mondays (#MISDProud), Fridays (Spirit), and some Wednesdays (College Shirt).

Tutoring by MISD Staff Members

DBD(local)”An employee shall disclose in writing to his or her immediate supervisor any private tutoring of District students for pay.”

If a teacher is serving as a tutor after hours he/she needs to get approval from their campus Principal. The teacher may NOT tutor students who he/she currently serves. Tutoring services may only be offered to students in the same building who are not in the teacher’s class or students who attend another school within the District. They need to use a personal email account; they may NOT use the MISD account.
