"Launching the Next Generation of Lifetime Learners"
"One step and then another and the longest walk is ended. One stitch and then another and the longest rent is mended. Then do not look downhearted on the work you have to do, and say that such a task you can't get through; but just endeavor day by day another point to gain, and soon the mountain that you feared, will prove to be plain."

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing students use the skills that I've taught them in counseling, guidance, or groups to handle a situation in real life. I get so excited to know that they will be better prepared for their lives because what we teach and reinforce with them. I also feel very rewarded when students are just having fun and being silly with me because we are building rapport for when the going gets tough.
What are your favorite things to do outside of work hours?
I love to hike with my dog in the beautiful mountains. I enjoy camping with my friends. I like to watch movies and go out to eat with my husband. I like to take African dance, hip hop, and yoga classes. I love to read novels. I'd rather listen to non-fiction, Ted-talk style.
