KINDNESS WEEK!!
Monday, March 9th
What is Kindness? - Poetry/Essay Contest
The winners from this contest will read their Essay/Poem at the Kindness Tunnel Opening Ceremony.
Materials to create cards will be in your classrooms. These cards are to be passed out on Thursday and Friday. In support of the paras-secretaries/bus drivers/ and crossing guards (see the specific days below). You may students create one during their free time. To pass out on
Wednesday, March 11th
Day of Smiles - Student Council will greet students with smiling faces and snap pictures of students and staff smiling enjoying their day.
Student Council students will be passing out smiles and greeting students in the hall and at the car line up.
Encourage students to wear smiley face t-shirts or a t-shirt with a positive message.
Thursday, March 12th
Custodian/Lunch Para Appreciation Day - Write a note of thanks to the custodial staff, Mrs. Rita and Mrs. Sally our Cafeteria Managers or one of our lunch/recess paraprofessionals.

Friday, March 13th
Bus Driver/Crossing Guard/Appreciation Day - Write a kind note to your bus driver.
Turn in any poems or Kindness Essays you may have.
Teachers will receive Shamrocks for your class. Please take a moment and write an affirmation to your student. Every locker should have a green Shamrock on it Tuesday, March 17th when students walk through the doors.
Advance Math Testing
Grades 3 and 4 will be tested in the morning. Testing will begin at 9:00 am. I will send you the list of names that will be tested.
9th Early Release 2:17 pm / Kindness Week Kick-Off/Meeting with Reynolds/Engleheart/James
10th No School - VOTE!
11th MTSS Meeting 7:30 am/Joe Perrilto from Capturing Kids Hearts will be in the building all day. He will meet with the Process Champions Team. There will be a sub for the day so that he and I can spend a little time with each team member. More information will be sent to each team member.
12th VanNostrand Walking Field Trip to WB Library/ Advance Math Testing- More information will be sent to classroom teachers.

Reading Assessments:
Friendly reminder that F&P data is due in Illuminate on March 9th. Please refer to the Literacy Assessment Plan as needed. If you have any questions or concerns please let Susie know.
F and P Follow-Up:
Now that we completed F and P testing has been completed. I am scheduling meetings with each teacher to discuss how to support Tier 2 students during your research clubs, strategy groups or guided reading. Take a moment to revisit the email from Melissa on how to intentionally plan for your students.

The West Bloomfield High School PSA is titled "Dear Drunk Driver".
The school of the video with the highest votes will receive $2,500 and the student/team that created that video will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
