Attachment Focused Psychotherapy
Group Consultation for Qualified Helping Professionals!
What is the Attachment Therapy Consultation Group all about?
The Attachment Therapy Consultation Group will become a community of learners who are trying to implement the use of attachment, relational based and emotion focused strategies into their psychotherapy practice with traumatized families and clients. After some time spent getting to know each other and reviewing the model and some of the strategies, a participant will be invited to discuss a particular client case. From there the group will work together to articulate a case conceptualization that includes trauma informed, attachment and relational informed concepts and strategies.
About the Facilitator: Lois Ehrmann PhD, LPC, NCC
Lois has been practicing in the central PA area for over 27 years. She specializes in trauma and attachment struggles within families. A personal experience about 24 years ago resulted in a heart felt commitment in Lois to find the best therapies for abandoned, abused and traumatized children. She began searching and researching methods that were safe but effective in the healing of attachment disorders and complex trauma.
Already a well known licensed therapist in the area, her journey led her back into a doctorate program so she could do the research. Her PhD dissertation was on the needs of traumatized children who had been adopted out of the US foster care system.
Out of her research came the vision of CHOICES, which is the trauma informed outpatient therapy program that Lois founded in State College PA in 2009. Many of the therapeutic offerings at CHOICES were selected due to the results of her research.
Lois is also a published author on best practices in attachment focused therapies as she and two fellow board members of ATTACh wrote The Attachment Therapy Companion: Key Practices for Treating Children and Families in 2012.
In addition to writing, training and teaching, Lois is a certified Attachment Focused Family Therapist and Approved Consultant. She is a Registered ATTACh Therapist through the National ATTACh organization and is certified and trained in various other trauma reduction and resolution strategies. She sees traumatized children, adults and families at CHOICES.
A national speaker and trainer on these issues, Lois is happy to be able to offer some mentoring and consultation to professionals right in her community who are interested in this very unique and rich treatment model.
Supervisees and consultees find Lois to be approachable, collegial and empowering. She enjoys mentoring fellow sojouners on their personal and professional trails and strives always to role model and teach balance in all things.
The Cost is Reasonable!
