Possible Attendance Zone Changes

Dear Hays CISD Parents, Students, and Staff Members,

The Attendance Boundary Rezoning Committee has been convened in Hays CISD to recommend to the Board of Trustees adjustments in the district's attendance zone maps to include the district's newest middle school and to relieve overcrowding and projected overcrowding at some of the district's elementary schools.

We know anytime attendance zone changes are proposed people are highly interested – and rightfully so. Changes in attendance zones may affect you in real and sometimes substantial ways.

To keep you informed about the process, we have created a special web page that is dedicated to the rezoning process. It has the proposed maps, a way for you to email the committee your thoughts, and additional important information. Once the public hearing schedule is finalized, it will also have those dates, times, and locations listed.

The quick link to the page is: www.hayscisd.net/rezone.

Sincerely,

Tim Savoy

Safety at Dismissal

Parents, we need your help! The intersection of our parking lot with Arbor Knot Drive is EXIT only during arrival and dismissal periods. We have several cars trying to enter, going around cones, as our main traffic is exiting the parking lot. We have more than 100 cars dropping off and picking up children daily. Although inconvenient, we ask that you please follow the posted signs and safety procedures. The safety of our students, families, and staff is our primary concern. Thank you for your cooperation.

Volunteers Needed! Please contact Principal Collier if you can volunteer to help with crosswalk duty during arrival and dismissal periods.

Reminder

Cell phone use is prohibited in a school zone! We ask that you pay close attention so that our students, families, and staff are safe. Thank you for your cooperation.

Boxtops for Education- Please clip and send to your child's teacher.

Student Council Thanksgiving Food Drive

Our Student Council is collecting non-perishable food items Nov. 16-19 for the Hays County Food Bank. Each grade level will have a donation box on the stage. The grade level collecting the most donations will have a special treat. Thanks for donating!
