Words of Inspiration

"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart...Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens."

-Carl Jung

A Special Applause to...

I want to give a special thanks to our educational assistants! They do so much around the Greene School to help students enjoy the experience and access instructional materials. This past week some of our students with disabilities took a field trip to Perfect North. The EA's who went with them helped turn this field trip into an unforgettable experience. While the fun was had off campus, this experience is not rare. Thank you for the work you do for our students.

PD on the Fly...

As we continue our series on Culturally Responsive Practices, Ms. Tanner shared this article with me. Equity for all is something we all strive for. This article provides some tips and points of reflection for us all. One piece of advice that I love is when the author said, "If we allow students the freedom and a platform to address inequities or raise concerns without the threat of consequences for being disrespectful, we’ll be able to move forward toward more equitable discipline and instruction." Think about how you can help create this culture in your classroom. Enjoy!

Info for the Staff

Staffing Information

I have a couple more updates for you. Brigid Young will be moving to Math Intervention next year! I'm excited she will bring the strong sense of community from her classroom into this nurturing position. We will structure Intervention to have two reading teachers (Carol and Leslie), two math teachers (Beth and Brigid), and one split reading and math teacher (Erin). Brigid's position will be filled by Michelle LaCalameto (5th grade teams are not finalized as far as who will be on what team).

Also, at the next BOE meeting Katie Masotti's resignation will be on the agenda. I want to wish her the best of luck as she starts a new endeavor consulting to continue her work with RPM.
