Reading Response Journals
Students should be bringing home a composition notebook with reading response on the cover every night. Every night for homework, students will need to read 20 minutes then write a summary on what they just read. We have been working in class and talking about actually finishing chapter books that we start, and making sure we pick books out that are not too easy for us and not too hard. As well as writing summaries for what they read. We have talked in class about how they should ask themselves before they get start writing about what they read. That way when they start writing, it will be easier for them. This is really helping with their writing skills as well as their comprehension! Please help me at home to reinforce what we are doing in class.
Winter Maps Testing
We will be taking Winter Maps the week of February 2nd.
Cold Weather
With the cold weather, please make sure that your child has on warm clothing. When it is warm enough to go outside, we do take our jackets, coats, and winter clothing out with us, so make sure your child's name is in each item.
