JSU RIC Newsletter
January 2022
A Message from the JSU RIC Director
Happy 2022! I am grateful to start our inaugural RIC Monthly Newsletter with that greeting. After starting as Director in October, it has been a whirlwind of learning and figuring out this new position. I have built so many treasured relationships across the region as the ATIM Specialist, and I hope to grow those as your Director of the Inservice Center. I hope that this letter finds you well, refreshed, and ready for new adventures this semester.
As we move into the second semester, the RIC will be hosting many workshops and learning opportunities. I hope you will explore our updated website, share this newsletter with others, and encourage them to visit our social media outlets for the most up-to-date information. You can also join our opt-in text message Remind group.
Have a great month!
Best regards,
Brandi Caldwell
RIC Needs Assessment-- Take 2
The RIC Needs Assessment is an important piece of data for the Inservice Centers to find out the needs of the region. Because of the craziness of last year, we did not get a good response. We are asking that you please distribute the link to all teachers and administrators so that they can complete this short survey. This survey will close on JANUARY 24. We appreciate your help.

Starting in January, the RIC will require that a Room Request Form be completed for your district to reserve a space. This is to help us expedite requests in a fair and timely manner. It also gives us data to report to the ALSDE regarding curriculum connections for events being held here. Thank you so much for using this form. You can also follow up with an email, but the request will need to be in the form.

In January the RIC will host a virtual informational meeting about a support cohort for those seeking the National Institute for Science STEM Certification. This is a fantastic computer science credential and a way to fulfill the TEAMS application obligations too. Click above to join the email information list.
