Spring Transportation Evacuation Drills
On May 9th, 2023 we will conduct the State and Federally required Evacuation Drills.
The drills are conducted twice a year, generally in the Fall and Spring. Should there be inclement
weather on the day the drill is scheduled at your school the drill will be rescheduled for one week
later.
Drivers will conduct the drill as they arrive at school in the morning. Please instruct staff that
students may be late to their first hour class and to not mark them tardy. Discuss the drill with
students prior to your scheduled date. Students will leave their instruments, books, and bags in
the bus during the drill and return to the front service door on the driver’s instructions. The
Rear Door Evacuation will be practiced this Spring.
Shuttle buses such as Crossroads, Transition Plus, P.E.K., etc. will evacuate at the first school
they arrive at in the morning.
Special Education Staff: We will evacuate ambulatory students only this Spring as drills were
practiced and completed last Fall with non-ambulatory students. Ambulatory and non-ambulatory
students will have bus evacuation drills again in September 2023.
Thank You.

Highway 10 update: Ferry Street Bridge closed
A major portion of the Highway 10 Anoka Project began mid-March, 2023, as construction on a new Single Point Urban Interchange at Ferry Street in Anoka started. To facilitate work, the bridge has been removed and detours put in place for the duration of the project. Completion is expected by Dec. 1, 2023. Employees and visitors to the Anoka-Hennepin Educational Services Center should plan accordingly as routes could be modified by detour during this time.
Northbound access to Ferry Street has been eliminated from Highway 10 during the construction period. Follow posted detours or view the detour map.
