Health Screenings to Begin this Week!

On Monday, October 17, Burnet CISD health services will begin conducting state-mandated vision, hearing and scoliosis (spinal) screenings at all campuses throughout the district. If your child wears glasses or contacts, please make sure that he/she brings them to school daily as they will need them during the vision screening. You will be notified by the nurse at your student’s school ONLY if medical follow-up is necessary based on the results of the screenings. The screenings completed at school do not replace your child’s need for regular healthcare and routine check-ups. Please see below for details on who will be screened.

All new students to BCISD and all students in Pre-K, Kinder, 1st grade will have a vision and hearing screening.

World's Finest Chocolate ends Oct 21st! Check out our stats!!!

There's only five more days left of The World's Finest Chocolate Bars fundraiser!

762 boxes of chocolate have been signed out so far! Can you believe it!?!?! Be sure money is turned in by Oct 21st for the Grand Prize Drawings!!! You guys are breaking records. We have 25 boxes left to be sold!

The money raised in Shady Grove's one fundraiser of the year goes toward campus activities (such as grade level field trips and supplies for family nights), educational materials, student enrichment, and staff appreciation!

For every box of chocolate sold, your child will be entered in THREE grand prize drawings. We have two Nintendo Switches and a 58" Smart Roku TV to give away!

The top seller will win a Lenovo-Flex 3 Chromebook 11.6' HD Touch-screen Laptop!

  • All chocolate must be paid for before additional chocolate may be checked out.
  • Chocolate can't be returned once it is checked out.

Some fun facts:

In 2018, Shady Grove Elementary families sold 726 boxes of chocolate.

In 2019, Shady Grove Elementary families sold 541 boxes of chocolate.

Battle of the Cans

Thank you to all who donated to the BATTLE OF THE CANS! Shady Grove students pulled through with a good-sized donation to contribute as Burnet took on Marble Falls in a battle for the food banks! Though Marble Falls donations outweighed Burnet's, the combined efforts of Burnet CISD and Marble Falls ISD resulted in over 6000lbs of food going to La Care and The Helping Center!

October 24-28 is Red Ribbon Week!

*Take note that the theme for Friday the 28th has been adjusted to Book Character dress up!

Please make sure costumes are age appropriate for PreK-2nd grade students. (no masks, blood, scary items, etc)
