TALKIN' TRASH Contest - EARN FREE TREAT(S) and R-CARDS
Talkin’ Trash (TT) is a school recycling and waste diversion competition that encourages elementary schools to engage in waste reduction, recycling, composting, and waste management practices. Every month, the top three winning schools will receive a plaque, supplies for their school, a recycled content prize for each 4th grader, and a visit from the Talkin' Trash crew! The students will also get a chance to appear on television. This is a school-wide effort to collect as much recyclables as possible.
As a school incentive to ALL students, each student will receive a treat and an R-card for every 13 gallon bag filled with recyclables. These recyclables include the following items: plastic bottles or jugs and aluminum cans. Please be sure to write the student's name along with his / her homeroom teacher's name on the bag.
Thanks in advance for your participation!

3rd grade reminder.....Don't forget to bring your recorders to school on the day you have music!
Let's show our school spirit!

Mrs. Moore's Counselor Corner
Resourcefulness is… the ability to find answers to questions using the resources available; finding creative solutions to problems.
A resourceful person seeks answers to his/her questions by using his/her surroundings, prior knowledge, etc. A person with a resourceful attitude does not give up until he/she finds an answer. A resourceful person does not wait for someone to handle things for them. Resourceful people are busy, finding what they need in their environment.
What can parents do to help their children develop a greater sense of resourcefulness?
· Teach students to actively seek and find answers to questions
· Remind students to check the classroom to find a word to help with spelling
· Remind students to reread the directions
· Teach students that remembering something they used previously will help with a future similar situation
Happy New Year! Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help your child this year!
