Here is What's Happening in Third Grade!
Ms. Gratton's Class
ELA: This week we will begin our Capitalization and Punctuation Unit.
· Sentences and Punctuation Quiz on Friday
Reading: We will complete our novel study of And Then What Happened, Paul Revere? By Jean Fritz this week.
· Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary Quiz 2 Thursday 11/20 over the second half of the novel (pgs. 21-45).
·
Reading Comprehension Questions are due Tuesday 11/18.
·
Diorama Projects are due Wednesday 11/19.
·
Don’t forget that students should read for at least 20 minutes each night and should log it in their reading log.
Math: We will continue our unit Patterns in Addition and Multiplication and we will continue learning our Multiplication facts of 10s, 11s, and 12s this week. Please practice these multiplication facts with your child at home each night.
· Quiz Friday: Perimeter and Area
Social Studies: Students will continue learning about the basics of Government this week.
· Students should continue studying their Government vocabulary.

· Health: This week we will continue learning about emotional health.

ELA: We will finish our Capitalization and Punctuation unit. Students will test over Sentences, Capitalization, and Punctuation on Thursday, November 20. We will test over our spelling and vocabulary words on Friday, November 21.
Reading: We will read Chapters 10-12 of George Washington's Socks. Students will test over Chapters 7-12 on Friday, November 21. I will be sending home our take-home reading project on Monday, November 17. This project will be due on Friday, December 5.
Math: Next week we will begin studying fraction operations.
Social Studies: We will review the levels and the branches of government. We will test over government on Wednesday, November 19.

Please remind your child to read books on their appropriate AR level and to take AR quizzes each morning! This is a great reading incentive for our students and I would love our class to have the most AR quizzes taken for 3rd grade!
Ms. Roland's Class
ELA: This week we will finish our unit on sentences. Our test will be on Thursday. The practice workbook pages we have been doing will be sent home this week to use as a study tool. Our spelling and vocabulary test will be Friday.
Reading: We will read chapters 10-12 in George Washington's Socks. We all have a test on Friday coving chapters 7-12. The reading project is due Friday.
Math: We will begin to add and subtract fractions. There are extra practice sheets uploaded to the portal.
Social Studies: We will finish up our government unit and have a test on Thursday.
Please make sure your child is bringing their GWS book to class everyday and bringing their homework each day as well.
