Remote Learning Through Friday, 1/22
As a precautionary measure related to COVID-19, Wilkesboro Elementary School will operate remotely from Tuesday, January 19, 2021 through Friday, January 22, 2021. Our school building will be closed, and students will learn from home using their Chromebooks. Our teachers will provide remote instruction daily using Zoom (PK-5), SeeSaw (K/1st) and Google Classroom (2nd-5th). Meal services will be provided from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. through car line. Please find your teacher's picture below to get started.
To help all families learn more about the symptoms of Covid-19, we are sharing a possible exposure letter from the Wilkes County Health Department. This letter describes symptoms of Covid-19 and will help you monitor your family during this time.
We've had some requests about how to get your child's webcams turned on. We've shared the webcam safety courses below, and links to the webcam safety letter that must be signed. 3rd-5th graders must pass the quiz which we can send you. If you need the webcam safety course in Spanish, please let us know. Please message Mrs. St. John, Mrs. Cleary, or Mrs. Spears to get your child's webcam signed on.
If you have questions or need technology help, you can fill out the form below. You can also reach out to Mrs. Spears, Mrs. St. John, or Mrs. Cleary via ClassDojo or e-mail and we will be glad to help. We are here to help make it go as smoothly as possible. See you online!

For 1/13/2021 through 1/22/2021, for ALL STUDENTS -- we must on a daily basis verify that the student is engaged (completing and submitting assignments), on pace (participating in the virtual classroom), or receiving academic/emotional support (directly from the teacher). If we don't see your child on Zoom or if work isn't submitted via SeeSaw/GoogleClassroom, your child will be counted absent. Please make sure that your child is submitting work and that you are communicating with the teacher daily. Thanks in advance for your help!
PRIOR to 1/13/2021 -- Parents, please note that since we have moved to Plan A, students who are participating in Plan A will be marked PRESENT or ABSENT. If your child is not in school, you will need to send in absence notes as usual and it will be coded as excused or unexcused. If your child is officially quarantined or excluded, those absences would be excused. If your child needs to be out, we will work with you to make sure your child doesn't get behind.
For students who continue with remote learning note that in order for us to count your child in attendance off site, we must on a daily basis verify that the student is engaged (completing and submitting assignments), on pace (participating in the virtual classroom), or receiving academic/emotional support (directly from the teacher). If this isn't happening, your child will be counted absent. Please make sure that your child is submitting work and that you are communicating with the teacher daily. Thanks in advance for your help!
