CHHS Yearbook Sales Are Wrapping Up!

The CHHS Hillife Yearbook Staff is putting the final touches on the 96th edition of the Chapel Hill High School yearbook. The staff has worked hard to try and appropriately capture the complexities that this school year has presented for our school community. I am very proud of the effort they've put into the book and the quality of the work they have created. Having said all this I did want to remind you that online yearbook sales will close on June 1st, at that point in time we will have determined the number of books to be ordered. Unlike in years past, we will not have extra copies available to sell after the close of the date of the online sale. If you want to make sure your student gets a copy of the yearbook please go online and order one now. You can order a book at www.yearbookordercenter.com, use the code 15298 to find our school, and then follow the steps for ordering a yearbook. Only those students who've ordered a book by June 1st will be guaranteed to have one when they are delivered in early July. If you have any questions please contact me at tstanfa@chccs.k12.nc.us.

Child Abuse Prevention Month 2021

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time for communities to come together to build caring connections, supportive environments, and positive experiences for all children. We know child maltreatment is a preventable problem. All adults play a role in building the safe, stable, nurturing homes and environments needed for the healthy development of our future generation of parents, leaders, and community members. Be a connection for NC children and families during Child Abuse Prevention Month this April! You can contact Stefanie Kotzen and Teresa Pitts, School Social Workers, with any questions or concerns.

Social & Emotional Learning (SEL): Your Weekly Tip

It's easy to confuse Self-Confidence with Self-Esteem, yet in SEL they are indeed quite different. Self-Confidence refers to our level of trust in ourselves, whereas Self-Esteem has more to do with how we feel about our own worth. For example, it is possible to have a high degree of Self-Confidence, yet have a very low level of Self-Esteem. So how can we boost our level of trust in ourselves? Try taking some time to reflect on your past accomplishments, or personal qualities that give you a sense of pride. Notice how you feel and what comes to mind as you think about these things. Allow these positive thoughts and feelings to be your sword and shield as you head into your next challenge!

Lifetouch School Pictures

Parents, if your 9th, 10th, or 11th grader took pictures with Lifetouch earlier in the year those pictures are now available for pickup in the main office of the school during school hours. Even if you did not order pictures there will be a package for you with a proof sheet and directions on how to order them if you are so inclined.

The yearbook staff is moving right along in producing a truly unique yearbook, if you are planning to order a yearbook for your student it would be helpful to do so earlier rather than wait for later in the year as we will be solidifying our order total by the end of March. We do not plan to order a lot of extra yearbooks to be made available for sale on yearbook distribution day so if you want to guarantee that your student has one please order on our publisher's website at www.yearbookordercenter.com, use the code 15298 to find our school, then just follow the steps to order a yearbook.

Midyear Transcript Requests

If you need an official midyear transcripts submitted to any college/university, please complete the midyear transcript request form. Midyear transcript requests are $5 each and should be paid through the K12 Payment Center.

Some colleges allow students to self-report their midyear grades. If this is the case, email your counselor to request an unofficial copy of your midyear transcript to upload directly to your application.

Midyear transcript requests will not be processed until February 1st.
