ART NEWS!!
Please be on the lookout for a Youth Art Month t-shirt order form going home with your student this week. We are both proud and excited that this year's artwork on the shirt was done by Liberty, a fifth grade student here at Deepwood. The sale of these shirts promotes art awareness in our community and helps to raise money for Deepwood Elementary fine arts. All orders are due by February 15th. Please make your check payable to Deepwood Elementary school. Thank you for supporting the fine arts!
TALENT SHOW INFO!
Talent Show Information
It is time to get ready for our annual Deep Wood Talent Show. Since the school year ends sooner now and May is so busy, we decided to move our Talent Share Day and Talent Show to March. The Talent Show will take place on Friday, March 29th at 8:00 a.m. That Friday is also Grandparents Lunch Day, so we hope to have a lot of special visitors that day. Our Talent Share Day will be on Thursday, March 28th, the day before the Talent Show. You can find all of the information, including the schedule for Talent Share Day, guidelines for the student acts, and the form for students to sign up to participate on the “Talent Show” page of Mrs. Choate’s website by clicking here: Deep Wood Talent Show Information
If you have any questions or need help filling out the Talent Share Day Form, please e-mail Mrs. Choate at lorinda_choate@roundrockisd.org or call her at 512-464-4421 or send her a note in your child’s folder. Please fill out the form and send her any music by Friday, March 15th. We can’t wait to see the creativity of our Dinos, and everyone is invited to both the Talent Share Day on March 28th and the Talent Show on March 29th.

KID's HEART CHALLENGE
What’s the most exciting time of the year? Drum roll, please….. It’s the time when our entire school officially kicks off our Kids Heart Challenge program! We used to hold a jump rope for heart event, but the Kids Heart Challenge is a brand-spanking-new, out-of-this-world, more fun than ever program – and we can’t wait to participate!
For more than 40 years, the American Heart Association has supported schools like ours, and we’re thrilled to work together again this year to have fun, raise money and learn how nutrition and being active can help us live longer, healthier lives.
First things first! We have an easy way for you to raise money online by having your very own fundraising page.
Simply follow these steps:
- JOIN OUR TEAM Go to www.heart.org/kidsheartchallenge (on your phone or computer) and search for our school then click “Sign Up”
- DOWNLOAD THE APP for iPhone or Android by searching for Kids Heart Challenge. You can unlock your Heart Heroes, bring them to life, and raise donations on the go!
- JUMP START YOUR DONATIONS $10 teaches more than 200 adults how to save a life by recognizing the signs of heart attack or stroke and how to administer CPR or use an AED. YOU can make a difference!
Help us fight heart disease by earning our instant heart heroes Echo and Finn with your first online donation of at least $10. Earn Ruby right away when you raise at least $40 online.
Thank you so much for supporting our school and the American Heart Association. We are so excited to be learning about heart health on our campus.
PARENTS WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
