HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!
Welcome to the 2nd week of the Easter Season.
Easter is a seven week season of joy and grace. Starting with the Triduum in Holy Week and ending with Pentecost Sunday, this 50 day season has been called "the radiant center of the liturgical year." We keep celebrating so that we might continue to enter into the meaning of the resurrection and to deepen the way it touches our daily lives.
After Easter Week's resurrection stories, the first reading for the rest of this long and glorious season is from the Acts of the Apostles. Every day we see how Jesus' followers reacted to his death, the challenges to their witness and the unexpected courage that comes to them. John's Gospel is used for the entire Easter Season, the one time of year we can enter into his poetic and layered stories on a daily basis.
Easter only begins with Easter Sunday. These daily prayers and meditations come together to remind us that Jesus is with us. He is not dead, but alive. And, that makes all the difference in the world in how much hope and courage we have, before any struggle, any possible fear of death.
In these 50 days, we are very much Easter People!
This Second week of Easter allows us to continue entering into and embracing the gift we have received in the death and resurrection of Jesus. The prayers and the readings keep inviting us to celebrate the gifts we have received.
In the Acts of the Apostles, we watch Peter and the others show such courage and boldness in proclaiming the good news.
The Gospel story about the encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus takes us deeper into the mystery of our re-birth into Jesus. It has to do with walking in the light.
All week, we have opportunities to ask for the graces to embrace, live and share the new life we have been given.
This year is specifically unique in that we, as an Easter People, are not in physical connection with each other due to the pandemic we are facing. The challenges we are facing each day, in many ways, can be compared to those of the apostles who struggled with the unknown but found courage in the teaching of Jesus. We too can find strength and courage to face the challenges we have each day by putting ourselves in the presence of our risen Savior. As we strive to maintain and strengthen our relationships with those we care for, remember that Jesus is there with each of us to share the new life we have been given wherever we may be.
God Bless each of you during this time.
Please take time to pray for all the blessings we have been given and especially those who are struggling during this trying time. You are all in our prayers as we await the chance to be together in community physically once again.

Service Delivery
Each school is staffed with a Family Wellness Worker (FWW), who works under the direction of their School Principal and the Assistant Superintendent of Faith & Wellness. FWW's receive clinical guidance from a Registered Psychologist.
The primary function of the Family Wellness team is to provide social and emotional support to students and families. Family Wellness Workers meet with students and parents to assess needs, set goals, identify required supports, and plan appropriate interventions.
They collaborate with school system staff and community resources to build a “village” of support around students/families who are struggling.
Referrals
Parental consent is required for FWW services.
Referrals to the Family Wellness Program may be made by students, parents/guardians, school administration, teachers, or other school staff (e.g. school counsellor or collaborative response coordinator).
Parents and guardians can access these services by speaking with the Principal or contacting the school's Family Wellness Worker directly.
