Why is Present Continuous used? When we use it?

- For things that are happening at the moment (now). Example: I am reading this awesome post.
- When something is not going to continue for a long time (temporary). Example: It is rainning.
- For future arrangements, usually accompanied by future word like 'tomorrow' or a weekday. Example: We are having a party on Friday night.
