Giving Tree

There are still plenty of ornaments on the tree in the front office! Please stop by and take one or a few!

There are several families in the Lower South Community that could use a little extra help for the holidays. In order to help these families, we will have a Giving Tree set up in the front office with special ornaments on it describing an item that can be purchased for local families in need.

If you would like to help, parents can stop by the office and choose an ornament from the tree. We ask that all purchases be returned to school, unwrapped, by December 16th along with the original ornament, to be used as an identifying tag.

Thank you for being so caring and giving when it matters most!

Happy Holidays!!!!

RECESS: BUNDLE UP!

Temperatures are dropping! PLEASE be sure your child is dressed appropriately for outside weather. Due to health concerns, the nurse is not able to lend coats. Unless there are academic/disciplinary reasons, or the weather is extreme (rain or excessive cold-20 deg. or below), children will have recess outside.

School Field Trip ~ Alvin and the Chipmunks-The Road Chip Movie

On Wednesday, December 23rd the entire school will be boarding buses to attend our annual movie trip to see Alvin and the Chipmunks-The Road Chip. This trip is in lieu of classroom parties and celebrations. Students and staff will be enjoying Alvin and the Chipmunks-Road Trip at the Neshaminy-AMC Theater. The cost per student is $7.00. Students will leave school at approximately 9:20 a.m. and return by 11:45 a.m. Due to the amount of staff attending-no chaperones will be needed. Please look for the permission slip that will be sent home shortly. Cash or checks should be made out to the Lower South PTO. We look forward to an enjoyable day to celebrate the holiday season as an entire school.

EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSING

Neshaminy School District uses the Parent Link Messaging System to notify parents of a school closing or early dismissal due to inclement weather or other emergencies. This system enables all parents of students to receive a phone call from the district within minutes of making a decision to close school. It is important that you update your contact information in Home Access. School closing information will also be available on the district website at www.neshaminy.k12.pa.us or through radio station WBCB, KYW, Fox News, as well as the Philadelphia radio and t.v. stations. The Neshaminy School District code number is 752. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL OFFICE. A rush of calls jams the phone lines and prevents emergency calls from being made. It is imperative that you rehearse with your child what they should do in case school closes early. Every parent should have updated their Emergency Contact information on Home Access as well as turned in the Emergency Dismissal Plan that teachers will use in case of an emergency closing.
