Belmont Elementary: A PAWSitive Place to Learn!

Full STEAM Ahead on Friday, May 3rd!

We are super excited for BE's STEAM Night 2019! We have a full crew of participants ready to share experiences in a wide variety of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics fields. Thank you for all of your time and connections! We're looking forward to a great evening together.

Also on the agenda for the evening:

  • Epic Egg Contraption Launch- build your egg protection contraption and measure your plan''s success in real-time right after Mrs. Hargrove drops it from the roof!
  • STEAM activities or exhibits from every grade level!
  • MANY community displays and opportunities to interact with STEAM careers!
  • Art Show including work from every K-5th grader!
  • Book Fair so you'll be ready for summer reading!

And FOOD! A very affordable hot dog, chips or applesauce, and H2O dinner deal will be available out front from 5:30 until sold out! There will even be an ice cream option for an additional fee. This fundraiser will contribute to the Eagle Scout Project of Clayce Dow, former Bulldog, who plans to build a community exercise station by our Belmont walking path.

We hope to see you for dinner and the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) Event on Friday, May 3rd from 6-7:30pm. (Dinner begins at 5:30)

Speaking of the Book Fair.........

The 2019 Spring Book Fair will be open for walk-in business during the following special events:

  • May 1st, 3:30-5:00pm; Read to a Dog!
  • May 2nd, 6:00-7:30pm; Before, During and After the 5th grade program!
  • May 3rd, 6:00-7:30pm; Family STEAM Night

Additionally, your elementary-aged child will have the opportunity to visit and shop the book fair during school hours May 1st-May 3rd. New this year- eWallet! If you would like the opportunity for your child to shop the book fair WITHOUT CASH, click here to visit the Book Fair website and check out the information about eWallet. It's easy! It's safe! It's all up to YOU! YOU set the limits and the product options and your child does the shopping at school while staying withing the limits you have selected. It's completely up to you, the parent, to decide if eWallet is right for your child. Also at the website, you'll find extended online shopping hours if you prefer that method of selection.

Another way to shop without cash is to earn Scholastic Bucks as a volunteer! Click here to see the volunteer options available for set-up, tear-down and book barista duties (okay I just made that job title up...let's go with cashier) and join us! Also on this link are the individual elementary class time slots so you'll know when your kiddo has the opportunity to peruse the titles for summer reading ideas.

The Spring Book Fair is sponsored by the PTO in conjunction with Mrs. Barcus and all proceeds benefit our Bulldog readers!
