Pershing Elementary Updates

July 24, 2020

Pershing Families,

In consideration of these uncertain times, the San Juan Unified School Board recently approved a sliding range of instructional options for the upcoming school year, referred to as the Learning Model Continuum (represented in the image below). School will begin on August 13 with all students automatically enrolled in Distance Learning. If local health conditions improve, San Juan Unified schools will add the option for in-person instruction via a hybrid format, providing two days of on campus learning and three days of remote learning each week. Then, as conditions improve further, a full return to on-campus learning five days a week can be implemented.

In preparation for August, we ask families to complete the Re-enrollment process through the Parent Portal. The Re-enrollment process includes a step to determine Technology needs and this information will be used to reserve devices for your students. PLEASE FOLLOW THE 5 STEPS BELOW to indicate your student's need for a computing device and daily internet access at home.

Frequently asked questions are answered here: If you are interested in the homeschool option, details to enroll in the homeschool option may be found in the FALL 2020 HUB at

If you need assistance, please email me at More information will be shared each week as we prepare for Distance Learning, which will include a date and plan for distribution of student materials and technology. Please take care and stay healthy!
