Learning and Growing Together!
March 24, 2023
I challenged the class last week during our school fundraiser event with a special bonus incentive. I kept my promise and got a new hair style this week to celebrate the TEAM efforts! Special thanks to Zulay Harris.
Spent a comfy, cozy day learning and watching a movie in our pajamas!
We had a blast during our Booster Bingo Bash enjoying bowls full of popcorn and treats provided by our awesome KMES PTA while playing bingo!

Math with Mr. Meeker
Analyzing and Interpreting Various Charts & Graphs
Our focus next week will shift to analyzing and interpreting various charts and graphs. It is very important for students to be able to understand the information they are presented in all different formats. Students will have time in class to practice these skills on IXL and are encouraged to also spend some time outside of school practicing these skills.
Solved Math Homework Problems
Students enjoyed extra technology time in class!
Reading with Mrs. Ryan
Next week students will engage in a Folktale genre study. Folktales began as an oral tradition, as people attempted to explain themselves and their world. Passed down from generation to generation, they provide a glimpse into a culture's beliefs and also insight into people's motivations, feelings, values, and desires. With their happy endings, often with goodness rewarded and evil punished, they appeal to children's sense of justice.
I continue to strongly encourage third graders to read at least 20 minutes each night at home. We do get lots of reading time in at school, but I believe in the importance of strengthening the sharing and celebrating of our learning between home and school. Thank YOU families for being such a significant part of your child's learning, and encouraging this extra practice and engagement in reading at home!
We will miss having Greta join our class every day, but wish her the best as she moves on to her 4th quarter classes at the high school.
