IACS Primary Campus August Newsletter

Welcome Back

Welcome to the first edition of the IACS Primary campus newletter, the Primary Press. This newsletter will be sent out monthly.

We are excited to start up a new school year with you! With our 3rd and 4th grade classes joining the K-2 grades, we will have a full building with 600 students total at the primary campus this year. This creates many new opportunities for us such as having full time, certified dance and music teachers. There will be some changes as our enrollment expanded, so please read through the following information.

Who's my teacher?

Log into Powerschool to view your child's homeroom teacher.

We also ask you to update your demographic information while logged in. If you need assistance logging in or navigating PowerSchool, contact Janne Goetz (208-463-4324 ext. 452).

PTO Uniform Swap--August 14 and 15

The PTO is hosting a uniform swap at the secondary campus next week. Parents can pay $2 per article of clothing or receive vouchers for bringing in old uniforms. We are in need of more primary size uniforms.

Open House--August 22 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

We invite parents and students to come by, drop off supplies, and meet their teachers on August 22 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. This is an open house, so come when you can.

Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 23. There are no early release Wednesdays this year.

Primary Campus Hours

School starts for the primary campus at 8:40. There is no supervision for students before 8:20 a.m. The dismissal bell will ring at 3:45 p.m. Half day kindergarten parents please see your email from your teacher.

Breakfast is available for students at 8:20

The first day of school your child will need to know their lunch number or first and last name. Lunch numbers will be available to pick up from your child's teacher during open house night. If you are unable to make open house night, just put your child's full name on an index card size paper so your child can had it to the primary lunch manager, Kimberly Lords.

Any child living in the Nampa School District is able to ride the bus to and from Idaho Arts Charter School. If you are interested in having your child ride the bus, please fill out the appropriate bus form and return it back to the school. Brown Bus will call you when they receive the form from us and let you know the route information. If your child hasn't ever ridden the bus, the bus will not pick them up or drop them off unless the attached form is turned in.

Possible Late Buses First Week of School

Please be patient the first week of school with buses running late after school. We don't let buses leave until all students are on the bus. Many students forget which bus they ride or which stop to get off. To help your child, we suggest you write their full name, bus number, and bus stop on a piece of paper for them to keep in their backpack.

After School Parent Pick Up

We will be sending out an additional e-mail next week regarding parent pick up after school. With our increase in enrollment at the primary campus, we appreciate your patience as we adjust how parent pick up runs. We ask if your child is able to ride the bus for you to have them ride the bus as this would help ease a lot of traffic.
